What is Sequential Learning and How to Enable It? (Add On)

Sequential Learning

Sequential Learning allows you to define and configure a structured learning path where users must complete content in a specified order before unlocking the next item.

How to Enable Sequential Learning

The steps for creating a Sequential Learning collection are the same as standard collection creation https://help.kitaboo.com/docs/creating-a-collection/ , with one additional setting.

Step 1: Enable Sequential Learning

While creating a collection, select the “Enable Sequential Learning” checkbox.

Select this option if you want users to progress through the collection in a defined sequence, ensuring a structured and progressive learning experience.

Step 2: Set Unlock Percentage

After enabling Sequential Learning:

  • Enter the required value in the “Unlock Percentage” field.

  • The next content item in the collection will be unlocked only after the user completes the previous content based on the defined percentage.

  • This rule applies sequentially to all content items in the collection.

Editing a Sequential Learning Collection

If Sequential Learning is already enabled for a collection and you want to edit it:

  1. Click on the More Options icon against the collection you want to edit.

  2. Select the Edit option.

If you change the sequence (order) of the content within the collection:

  • If the last item in the sequence is moved up (its position is changed), the Unlock Percentage for that item will automatically reset to 0%.

  • You must re-enter the required percentage as per your learning path configuration.Note:

  • Updating the content order may affect existing learner progress and restrict access to some content.
