Content Lifecycle Stages in Kitaboo for eBooks

All the stages in Kitaboo’s content workflow eBook, with a short description and a more detailed definition –

Stage Short Overview Detailed Definition
Assigned Content moves back from Live to an editable state for updates. If an update is needed for already published content, the admin/editor can reassign it. The content shifts from Live → Assigned, enabling editing and new version creation.
Converting Content is in the process of being converted. The initial stage where raw files (PDF, ePub, Word, etc.) are being processed and transformed into Kitaboo’s supported digital format.
Converted Content has been converted; enrichment and markups can be added. Once conversion is completed, the content is available for enrichment. Editors can add markups, highlights, interactive elements, multimedia, and other enhancements.
Publishing Content is in the process of being published. At this stage, the content is being published in multiple formats (HTML, Android, iOS/iPad) according to the client’s account configuration and platform compatibility.
Published Content has been successfully published. The publishing process has completed, and the content is now available in the system for further actions such as archiving or going live.
Archiving Content is being prepared for live availability. The transition stage where published content is moved towards a “live-ready” state. System processes prepare the content for end-user distribution.
Live Content is available for end users to access and read. The content is fully live and ready for distribution. End users can open the reader and begin consuming the content seamlessly across supported devices.
