Kitaboo supports videobooks, offering a multimedia reading experience by combining text with video content. This feature is ideal for educational content, tutorials, and storytelling, providing visual context to enhance understanding and retention. The videobook also supports controls like play, pause, and seek, making it easy to navigate through the videobook content.

1. Videobook Overview

  1. Back to Shelf: Returns to the shelf where you can access, read, or add eBooks and other resources.
  2. Play/Pause: Starts or pauses the current video playback.
  3. 15 Seconds Forward: Skips ahead by 15 seconds in the video.
  4. 15 Seconds Backward: Rewinds the video by 15 seconds.
  5. Seek Bar: Allows you to navigate to any point on the progress bar.
  6. Volume Controller: Lets you adjust the volume or mute the audio.
  7. Bookmark: Adds a bookmark to save your current position in the video.
  8. Speed Controller: Adjusts the playback speed of the video narration.
  9. Full Screen: Expands the video to full-screen mode for better viewing.
  10. Bookmarks: Displays a list of all added bookmarks.
  11. Seek Bar: Provides an easy way to move through different parts of the video using the progress bar.

2. Bookmarks

The bookmark feature in Kitaboo videobooks allows users to mark specific points in a video for easy reference later. This makes it simple to return to important sections or resume watching from where you left off. Users can add, view, and manage multiple bookmarks, enhancing navigation and organization within the videobook content.

2.1 Adding Bookmarks

1. Bookmark Button : Click on “Bookmark” button to open the bookmark panel.

2. Bookmark Text : Student can enter bookmark text they want to enter in the dialog box.

3. Add Bookmark : To save the bookmark click on the “Add Bookmark” button.

4. Cancel : To cancel adding the bookmark, student can click on “Cancel” button.

2.1 Accessing Bookmarks

1. Bookmarks Tab : To access the bookmarks click on the “Bookmarks” tab.

2. Bookmarks : To navigate to a bookmark click on the bookmark and the audio will skip to the bookmark section.

3. Video Settings

Kitaboo videobooks offer various video settings to enhance the viewing experience, including subtitles, language change, and quality adjustment. Users can enable or disable subtitles for better comprehension and accessibility. The language change feature allows switching between available languages for both audio and subtitles, catering to diverse audiences. The quality change option lets users adjust video resolution, enabling smooth playback on different devices and network conditions, ensuring an optimized viewing experience.

Click on the “Settings” button on the top-right corner of the videoplayer to open the video settings panel.

1. Subtitles : Student can use this toggle button to turn the subtitles “ON” or “OFF”.

2. Subtitle Language : The subtitle language (if available) can be changed from here.

3. Video Quality : The quality of the video being played can be changed from here.
